Wetcomb V-vire recharge System
Rain water being runoff can be made utilized and Re-charge groundwater source
- To recharge depleting and dried drinking water borewell through surface Rainwater, a innovative and scientific way is to adopt,
- Farmland V-Wire technology which has long life span of the material, minimum of 20 years and this technology doesn’t employ any moving parts.
Salient features of the Technology
- The Recharging structures of V wire Injection wells are identified through VES (Vertical Electrical Sounding)
- In FL- V wire Technology most of the material used is eco-friendly and recyclable
- The maintenance cost involves de-silting of the silt trap and replacement of filtration media once in 5 years.
- This technology does not employ moving parts; the assured life span of the material is a minimum of 20 years. Technology works on the Gravitational Principle
Wetcomb’s Unique Rainwater to Drinking water System consists of Disinfection through Chlorine, Filtration, UV Sterilization & pH correction system. The treated water can be used for drinking purpose after proper analysis & certification from authorized laboratories.
The use chlorine to disinfect water has virtually eliminated waterborne diseases such as cholera, typhoid, dysentery and hepatitis, saving thousands of lives.
Filters are measured in microns. One micron is about 1/25,000th of an inch. For comparison, sand is about 100 – 1,000 microns, a human hair is about 100 microns, a particle of dust is about 1 micron and a virus can be smaller than .01 micron. The membranes used for the filtration has the pore size of 0.5 micron. This membrane would reduce the Turbidity of water to <0.1 NTU & TSS < 1 ppm.
The final step in any rainwater filtration system needs to be disinfection (killing bacteria) or sterilization (sterilizing bacteria so that it cannot reproduce, thereby rendering it harmless). Even after filtering the water down to 5 microns, bacteria can still be present in the water. We use both – Chlorine as well as ultra-violet (UV) sterilization for bacteria filtration. UV sterilizers offer a very safe and extremely effective result. With UV lights, the water must always pass through a filtration system first. If no filter is used, pathogens and bacteria will cast shadows in the flowing water, thereby allowing live organisms to pass through unharmed.
Maintenance:-
However, UV lamp sleeves need regular (usually every 3 months) cleaning to ensure that the UV light penetrates the water fully. Cleaning is not difficult and, with all of the above filtration steps in place, can be a very quick process. The rain water is slightly acidic in nature with pH in the range of 5 – 6. The pH correction system is used to change the pH to 7 or higher.

Merits of FL V Wire Injection well: |
Conventional Type: |
1. |
Specialized Silt Trap of the Non Clogging SS 304 Food Graded Material, ‘V’ Wire Screen Filter Placed at Horizontal Angle. |
In the conventional technology , the Absence of silt trap which leads to accumulation of silt directly in the recharging well
In the conventional method the depth of rainwater recharge is restricted to 3 meters which may cause adverse environmental impact in terms of water logging, soil salinity etc.
|
2. |
In Wetcomb ‘V’ wire Technology, inside the silt trap unit, sufficient volume of space is created in the form of Reinforced concrete rings filled with filtration media at the bottom which allows for the dirt and debris to remain at the bottom and allow clean water to pass through the horizontally placed V wire screen mesh leading to the Injection well. |
In conventional system the recharge well consists of 80% of filtration aggregates and 20% of volume is left for rainwater runoff. Basically, insufficient space for rainwater accumulation. |
3. |
In Wetcomb ‘V’ wire Technology the depth of Recharge point varies from a minimum of 20 meters and may go up to 60 meters depending on the geomorphic characteristics of the soil profile. Because of this depth in recharging; the water gets self purified and reduces the salinity, hardness and fluoride contents |
In the conventional method, during the rainy season the soil particles are generally saturated with moisture right up to their water holding capacity. Hence the saturated water molecules enter the recharging well and flood the system. Because of this, the system is unable to hold the surface runoff water and discharge it to the deeper layers. |

In most conventional system it is not so. |

Whereas in Wetcomb ‘V’ Wire technology; 20% of space uses high quality filtration media at the top and 80% space is earmarked to store the runoff water. This enables the system to hold large quantities of runoff rainwater to be held within the system and secondly this large volume of water column exerts an additional water pressure discharging large amounts of water into the deeper layers of the earth aquifer. |

Wetcomb technology employs the scientifically tested electrical conductivity test to accurately determine the most favorable points for the quick release of rainwater into the deeper layers of permeable strata. |
